The Harvard Secular Society was founded to create and continue a dialogue about faith, morality, God and religion, while providing a community for Humanist, agnostic, atheist and non-religious students. Sign up for our mailing list here.
The Secular Society seeks to encourage consciousness of the various political, scientific, social and cultural issues surrounding secularism and Humanism. Accordingly, HSS sponsors speaker events, panel discussions, debates, social functions and other educational and cultural programs.
The Secular Society welcomes members of every gender, ethnicity, religious background and sexuality.
We seek to maintain a positive and communicative relationship with other religious and political groups on campus, and welcome our responsibility to give back to the community, lending support to community service and political campaigns affecting secularism or Humanism.
Coming up next:
The Harvard Secular Society will be holding a festive holiday party on Saturday December 15, at Harvard’s Winthrop House JCR (H Entry). What does a “holiday” party for a diverse group of student Humanists, atheists, agnostics, and others consist of? We can’t reveal just yet but don’t miss this event. Open to HSS members & all students at Harvard College, as well as Harvard Humanist grad students and members of the Metro Boston Intercollegiate Secular Coalition. Be on the lookout for a possible NPR story about the party, as well.
